Research
is needed to help fight our battle with Takayasu’s arteritis. TARA
is focused on searching, obtaining and providing critical data
necessary to reach our goal of finding a cure for Takayasu’s
Arteritis. The patients, families, friends and the medical community
need to work together to understand and learn more about TA. It
affects each person differently and therefore we need everyone's
input and support. TARA was established to facilitate this effort.
The programs established
involve creating and maintaining databases in the following areas:
TA Patients:
Tracking demographics;
number; age; sex
Patient survey
Patient stories
Researchers:
Reaching current/future
medical professionals: rheumatologist, vascular, auto immunologist,
neurologist, cardiologist, etc.
Obtaining list of
possible conference speakers
Establishing scholarship
programs
Medical Studies and Articles:
About TA, other vascular
or autoimmune diseases which are being or have been published
Track new medical
breakthroughs relevant to TA-. medications, diagnostic tools,
treatments and with other diseases: Wegners, lupus, etc
Establish networking
system of universities, teaching hospitals, etc., currently
performing vascular and/or other TA related procedures.
