There are various ways that you can assist us in obtaining our goal.
 

• Join the Takayasu's Arteritis Research Association (TARA) -Takayasu's Arteritis is a rare disease--most patients feel alone and powerless. By joining TARA you can communicate with other Takayasu's Arteritis patients and share their unique experiences. More important, together we can have a voice in our health care and the distribution of funding for research.

As TARA grows larger in membership we will have more political clout. The benefits of membership extend beyond the individual patient, they extend to all who are affected by Takayasu's Arterits.

You can join TARA by filling out the contact information on the  membership form. It can also be reached from the TARA homepage. There is "never" a charge for joining TARA.

• Volunteer Your Time - in one of our many organized committees, Fundraising, Membership, Research, etc. 

• Donate Your Services - with administrative duties - Printing services, Public Relations, Mailings, etc.
 

• General Donations – we accept all donations, including in honor of, in memory of, the birth, etc.
 

• Donate Online Through "Network for Good" - This service allows you to donate on-line using your credit card.

"Network for Good" does not charge TARA a service charge to process your donation so 100% of your donated dollars come directly to TARA. Click on the "Network for Good" icon on the TARA homepage to donate now.
 

• "Special Gifts" - TARA has prepared a guide on "SPECIAL GIFTS" as a means of encouraging you to include those with Takayasu's Arteritis in your plans for the legacy you will leave to society. The guide on "Special Gifts" is available upon request.
 

• "Matching Gifts" - Working with your employer to make your contributions go even further. Many corporations in the United States will match their employee’s contributions to qualifying nonprofit organizations, often doubling or sometimes even tripling the amount of the contribution. Your employer may be one of these companies. To find out, simply check with your company's personnel department.  

If your company does indeed match gifts, you need simply obtain a form from your company and send it TARA along with your contribution. TARA can then follow up to arrange for payment of the matching contribution. Your company may have a matching gift program even though you have never heard about it. It never hurts to ask.

• "Memorial and Gift of Honor contributions" - A "memorial contribution" is a particularly meaningful way to remember friends and loved ones while helping TARA to expand its important programs.  

A "gift in honor" is a special way to recognize a friend or loved one's birthday, anniversary or other important event while also benefiting TARA.  

With each "memorial" or "gift in honor" contribution received, a card is sent to the appropriate person named. Please include the name and address of the person you would like to be notified of your contribution. The donor will receive an acknowledgment card. It is TARA's policy to acknowledge all "memorial" and "gift in honor" contributions within 24 to 48 hours after receipt. The amount given is never indicated on the cards unless requested.
