One of TARA’s main focuses is
to help educate and inform the medical community about the disease
Takayasu’s Arteritis (TA). While attending an American College of
Rheumatology Conference, we were able to discuss with over 300
medical professionals what we could offer them to help in the
treatment of their patients. Based on these discussions, it was
determined that medical professionals from around the world were
interested in a vehicle where they could "network" with other
professionals that were experienced in diagnosing and treating
Takayasu’s Arteritis (TA).
As a direct result, TARA is working to
develop the Medical Professional Networking System. This area
enables those in the medical field to ask questions and share
specific and pertinent facts with others, who are directly or
indirectly involved in the treatment of TA. This gives everyone
involved an opportunity to learn from each other and provide help in
the care of those affected with TA.
Located on our web site, we also provide a
public listing of medical professionals, who are currently treating
or have treated TA patients. This list enables any one seeking
assists in their country, state, and local area the ability to
directly contact and hopefully gain medical attention when needed.
If you as a medical professional would like your name and
information to be listed hereon the TARA website, please contact
TARA at:
takayasus_arteritis@yahoo.com
.
TARA has had contact with medical
professionals from around the world who are treating upwards of 40
or 50 patients at the same time and those who are treating one or
two. We hope this system will bring together all those involved.
